CMST Community Partnerships bring together stories, movement and music across generations
Music and community together are at the heart of CMST’s work. Alongside our outstanding curriculum and performance opportunities, CMST collaborates with community partners to grow connections across the neighbourhoods we serve. Expanding our Strings Program in Jane Finch
This year, CMST was excited to expand our strings programming at our Jane Finch site with the launch of cello lessons in September 2025. What started as a goal to broaden access to more instruments has quickly become a vibrant and much-loved part of our community. We’re currently offering one group cello class and three private lessons, and we’re thrilled to share that every spot is full, with fantastic attendance so far. Rock for Music 9: A Night That Rocked for a Cause
A record-breaking $254,000 was raised for CMST students and programs! Almost a decade ago, a group of friends with a shared love of music – better known as the band Figleaf – had a simple idea: put on a one-night benefit concert and open the doors to music education for more kids.
