You’re All in the Band – CMST Voices Unite

CMST’s capstone performance of the school year was a special presentation at the Luminato Festival called You’re All in the Band on June 21, 2025.  

The performance was a large-scale collaboration which brought together hundreds of CMST students, faculty members and the audience to create an original composition together, live on stage! The CMST team, members from Luminato, and our dedicated students spent months preparing for the performance in their classes, ensembles and in special faculty workshops. The result was an exceptional learning opportunity for CMST students, growing their creative and musical abilities and their connections to an inspiring community. 

With the support of special guest JUNO Award-winning Canadian folk-rock musician Hawksley Workman and members of KUNÉ - Canada’s Global Orchestra, CMST students personified the very foundations of community music – collaboration, creativity, community – in a unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  

“What we experienced together on June 21 was magical,” says Richard Marsella, Executive Director, CMST. “Seeing and hearing the kids of CMST improvise and make music together was an experience that celebrated joy, inclusion and the collective power of music.”
